We Take Metal Loads and Recycle

If you are searching for a place to “recycle metal near me” around Chicago, you probably have a job in motion right now. Maybe you are cleaning up a construction site, demoing a building, or hauling mixed loads that include concrete, wood, shingles, and metal.

At Midwest Material Management (MMM), we take non-hazardous metal as part of your construction and demolition (C&D) loads and route it through our LEED-certified recycling facility in Hampshire, Illinois

We are not a scrap yard and we do not pay for metal by the pound. Instead, you get a clean, organized, professional site where you can tip your material and know it is handled the right way.

What Kind of Metal Will MMM Take?

We accept non-hazardous metal that comes in with your C&D debris and bulk loads. That can include:

  • Light and heavy gauge construction metal
  • Metal studs and framing
  • Metal siding and trim
  • Metal from demolition and renovation projects
  • Metal mixed in with wood, concrete, brick, shingles, and other C&D debris
  • If you are not sure whether your metal load is acceptable, a quick call to our team will confirm.

Important: We do not purchase or compensate for metal. Standard C&D tipping fees apply based on weight and material type at our transfer facility.

What We Do Not Take

For safety and compliance, certain materials cannot be accepted. In general, we do not take:

  • Household garbage or bagged residential trash
  • Hazardous or flammable materials
  • Paint, chemicals, or medical waste
  • Asbestos-containing material (ACM)

If your metal is attached to items that may be hazardous or regulated, contact us first so we can advise you on the best next step

How Metal Recycling Works With MMM

Whether you are a contractor, roofer, demo crew, hauler, or property owner, we keep the process straightforward so you can stay on schedule.

Option 1: Drop Off at Our C&D Recycling Facility

  • Drive to our ten-acre C&D drop-off facility in Hampshire, Illinois
  • Enter through the West gate and check in at the scale house
  • Follow staff direction to the correct tipping area
  • Unload your mixed C&D load that includes metal

Our facility is designed for fast in-and-out access, with extended hours to support busy job sites.

Option 2: Schedule Dumpster or Container Rental

For larger projects, we can deliver a roll-off dumpster or container directly to your job site. Once it is full:

  • You load it with construction debris, including metal
  • We haul it back to our facility
  • Material is sorted so recyclable components

This is ideal for ongoing construction, renovation, or demo jobs where metal is just one part of the waste stream.

Why Recycle Metal With MMM?

Metal is a valuable part of the C&D waste stream. When it is handled correctly, it can be kept out of landfills and used again.

At MMM Recycles, we:

  • Support C&D recycling goals by separating and processing metal as part of broader C&D recycling efforts
  • Operate a LEED-certified facility that helps project owners meet sustainability and diversion targets
  • Provide clear, predictable pricing so you know what to expect before you arrive
  • Make it easy to do the right thing for the environment without adding complexity to your job

You do not have to hunt down a separate scrap yard or juggle multiple vendors. Bring your metal in with your C&D load and we will handle it as part of your overall disposal plan.
